This evening will honor the profound legacy of Dave Bresnahan's long career as Band Director at Manchester's Central High School, where the band program has recently established a music scholarship in his name. The purpose of the concert is raise money to fund the scholarship in perpetuity.
Dave's impact on the lives of so many music students that passed through the Central High music program can't be put into words, so we'll let the music praise those accomplishments. His influence to further jazz music education in the Granite State also includes having been been director at Manchester's Memorial High School, an enthusiastic support of New Hampshire Jazz All-State, and being a sought-after trombonist in regional adult big bands. He is currently a full-time member of the Freese Brothers Big Band and an alumnus of the Tall Granite Big Band, and he has moved from a very distinguished many-year full-time role with the Compaq Big Band to now a frequent, go-to sub.
